Monarch Therapy & Wellness supports children, teens, parents, and families navigating a variety of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. Common concerns may include anxiety, ADHD and focus challenges, emotional regulation, behavioral difficulties, school stress, social struggles, self-esteem, parent-child conflict, family transitions, stress, and coping with life changes. Therapy is personalized to each client’s unique strengths, needs, and goals.
Monarch Therapy & Wellness primarily supports school-aged children (approximately age 5 and older), teens, parents, and families through both in-person and secure telehealth counseling across Florida. Services are thoughtfully tailored to each client’s developmental needs, strengths, and goals.
In addition to supporting children and teens, therapy is also available for parents independently, whether or not their child is receiving services. Parenting can feel overwhelming, especially when navigating behavioral challenges, family stress, emotional overwhelm, or uncertainty. Therapy can provide a supportive space for parents to process challenges, strengthen coping skills, and feel supported in their parenting journey
At Monarch Therapy & Wellness, we believe therapy should feel personalized, supportive, and collaborative. We understand that every child, teen, parent, and family is unique, which is why treatment is thoughtfully tailored to each client’s individual strengths, challenges, and goals.
We take a warm, strengths-based approach that focuses not only on challenges, but also on helping clients recognize their abilities, build confidence, and develop practical tools for everyday life. For children and teens, we value parent collaboration and family support, recognizing that meaningful growth often extends beyond sessions and into daily life.
For younger children, therapy may incorporate interactive activities, play-based techniques, and developmentally appropriate strategies to help keep sessions engaging and effective.
At Monarch Therapy & Wellness, our goal is to create a space where clients feel heard, supported, empowered, and encouraged to grow.
Every child experiences challenges from time to time, and seeking support does not mean something is “wrong” with your child. Therapy may be helpful if your child or teen is experiencing persistent anxiety, emotional outbursts, sadness, behavioral changes, school difficulties, social struggles, difficulty coping, family stress, emotional overwhelm, or challenges managing big feelings.
You do not have to wait for concerns to become severe before seeking support. Many families begin therapy not only during difficult times, but also to help children and teens build coping skills, confidence, emotional resilience, healthy communication, and problem-solving strategies.
Therapy can provide a safe, supportive space where children, teens, and families feel heard, understood, and equipped with practical tools to navigate life’s challenges.
Therapy is tailored to each child or teen’s developmental level, strengths, and goals. Sessions may focus on coping skills, emotional regulation, communication, confidence building, problem-solving, behavioral support, and healthy ways to manage stress or big emotions in a supportive, collaborative, and individualized environment.
Parent involvement is often an important part of the therapeutic process, especially for younger children. Depending on the child’s age, goals, and needs, therapy may include parent check-ins, guidance, communication strategies, behavioral support, or family collaboration when clinically appropriate. The goal is to help support progress both during sessions and in everyday life.
Telehealth can be a highly effective option for many children and teens when sessions are engaging, supportive, and tailored to their developmental needs. Many children feel more comfortable participating from the familiarity of home, which can help reduce anxiety and strengthen engagement.
At Monarch Therapy & Wellness, we understand that young children learn and communicate differently than adults. To help keep children engaged, sessions may incorporate interactive activities, play-based techniques, age-appropriate games, movement, visual supports, and creative interventions designed to build coping skills, emotional regulation, confidence, and positive behaviors.
During the intake process, we will discuss your child’s unique needs and determine whether in-person counseling or telehealth services are most appropriate and likely to be beneficial.
The first appointment is an opportunity to get to know one another, discuss concerns, strengths, and goals, and better understand what support may be most helpful. For children and teens, parents or caregivers may be involved in part of the session to provide information and discuss concerns. Together, we will begin identifying goals and creating a plan to support meaningful growth and progress.
Monarch Therapy & Wellness currently accepts select insurance plans, with insurance participation continuing to expand. Please contact the practice for the most current insurance participation status and coverage information.
For clients seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement, a superbill (out-of-network reimbursement receipt) may be provided upon request. Clients may independently submit this document to their insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your specific insurance plan and out-of-network benefits.
It is completely normal for children and teens to feel unsure, nervous, or hesitant about therapy at first. Building trust and rapport is an important part of the therapeutic process, and sessions are designed to feel supportive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
At Monarch Therapy & Wellness, we meet children and teens where they are, helping them feel safe, heard, and comfortable at their own pace. For younger children, interactive activities, play-based techniques, and age-appropriate strategies may be incorporated to support engagement and connection.
Getting started is simple. Reach out through the website or contact the practice to schedule an intake appointment. Intake paperwork is completed securely online prior to the first session to help us better understand your concerns, goals, and needs.
